Jack Nowell, Tom Daley, Tonia Crouch, Helen Glover…
The list is endless when it comes to sporting superstars Devon and Cornwall has produced.
But for every Nowell or Daley, there are those unsung heroes working hard behind the scenes, helping tomorrow’s stars reach their full potential.
And that is why you are being given the chance to nominate those who deserve recognition for their contribution to sport in the shape of the Devon and Cornwall Sports Awards, which are being held at Plymouth Pavilions on Monday January 28, 2019.
It is purely for the love of the sport that they give up their time to make their own vital contribution, whether it be coaching a team, or helping out behind the scenes to ensure people can enjoy sport.
Their loyalty and dedication is known within clubs, but we want you to spread the word further by nominating them for an award. And who knows, they might be standing on stage at Plymouth Pavilions on Monday January 28 2019 collecting their award.
Nominations open today and you, the general public, are being asked to put forward the name of the person or people you feel are the most deserving winners of each of the awards categories.
Nominees will be judged by a panel and shortlisted, not on the number of nominations they receive, but on their overall contribution to sport in Devon and Cornwall.
